Children’s Dentistry

Our focus is on giving all children positive experiences within the dental environment in order to set them up for a lifetime of healthy teeth. Most of our young patients love coming to see us and we do everything we can to make coming to the dentist fun.

We believe strongly in preventing problems occurring. We believe in intervening only when necessary and when there is clear evidence that intervention will be beneficial in the long run.

Children coming to see us at Dentists of Alphington can expect to have their teeth and gums assessed in detail and to have a simple assessment of the growth and development of their teeth, bite and jaws. This is sometimes following by gentle cleaning of the teeth as required, and some tailored advice regarding prevention of problems occurring in future.

Children eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) are bulk-billed at our practice, meaning that all general dental care is performed for free, up to a limit of $1000 over a two-year period. Please contact one of our friendly reception staff if you would like to discuss your child’s eligibility for this.
